Twitter has new competition: Buzz. For two days, the new Twitter competitor is now online and eliminates the ghosts.
What's new?
Not much, but are nevertheless interesting that the new Buzz in comparison to other micro blogging services bring:
- Regional orientation
Buzz brings - especially when using the service via mobile phone - the location of each user into the game. Which sometimes might be handy - find friends who are just in the same city or nearby, can easily degenerate into the unpleasant fact ... - real-time Internet
Twitter makes it but before recently, but Google has even more to one thing: Real-Time Internet - the web trend 2010 - was also heavily involved in Buzz. So "important" news will be displayed in real time on screen. Whether status messages, new Flickr photos or or or - wave concept
Twitter is great, but what animal is the annoying confusion. Buzz will this tie and make micro blog themed "Waves". That means you have the opportunity to "tweets" have the answer and the answer appears directly within the article. A clear step in the direction of Structured microblogging
complicated concept
alone account at Buzz is more complicated than necessary. Neither on the normal Google web site or at one look at the different services (click on "more ..." link in the list above left) brings a further here. Not even a reference to the new service can be found on Google.de. Only an account at Gmail brings one to the goal. Buzz here is almost automatically integrated.
user guide par ... well, at least not excellence!
A micro-blogging service lives of the networking of individual members, but at first glance do not know how to get connected with someone! Only a closer look at the search field and the next button at the top, suggests the suspicion that we hereby tweets can browse to find interesting buzzer.
Once you have found now more or less interesting buzzer, the question is how can I follow this buzzer? - Mh .. It helps to click on the arrow next to the button "comment". ... And the next Question. What I get is a arrow button "comment" below the post and has an arrow! - Correctly ... They let their eyes wander to the right ... and behold a second (!) button with the same text and a small arrow.
Now click on the arrow and then "read along at xxx" and (...) are already following this buzzer. Still went fast, right?
